I am so glad you're here.

Over the past few years, what started out as a passion for flowers, has become a small, sustainable flower farm where I have the joy of sharing nature's beauty with you through flowers.

Every year I am learning more about growing, experimenting with different blooms, and growing my offerings, but always, I am here to supply you with seasonal, local, organic and one-of-a-kind flower bouquets.

I'm a bit late on this post after all the snow these past few days... but save this for next year!

We prep our beds using a layering method of greens (for nitrogen and other nutrients), browns (for carbon), manure (more nitrogen) and finishing it off with straw mulch (to keep all that good stuff protected).

Over winter these layers will feed the soil organisms, break down, and make nutrients available to our plants next year.

One of the best parts: we don't need to till the beds! When we pull the straw mulch off in the spring, there's beautiful, soft, soil awaiting us that we can plant right into!

Check out the size of this radish! You're probably wondering why a flower farmer is growing massive radishes.... One of the practices we use on the farm to improve our soil is cover cropping. Our soils at this end of the garden are composed largely of clay and quite compact, so adding organic material is a priority. These diakon radish are awesome for breaking up the compaction and over the winter they will break down, feed the soil organisms, and make beautiful beds for us to plant in next spring!

I may have been a bit quiet here lately but I've been working hard in the gardens! This is the side to being a flower farmer that isn't as pretty, but so important to build healthy soils to grow all the beauty of summer. Grateful for slower days and moving my body in nature.

One of my favorite times of the day is sunset and making the time to walk through the gardens. It's become a ritual where I meander through the rows and observe the flowers, how they're growing and listen to the peaceful sounds of nature. Working with the flowers daily - from weeding and pruning to making bouquets - means that I sometimes forget to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the gardens. This time is precious to me.

How I create a lush, sustainable wedding arrangement!

On the farm, we are always pushing to find more sustainable and natural ways to grow and supply flowers.

One of my most recent experiments is making my own moss blocks for floral arrangements. I used to use floral foam for arrangements, but after coming across this more eco-friendly approach, I don't think I'll be going back!

Benefits of the moss blocks:
- Reusable: unlike foam blocks, moss can be dried, stored and used again for future projects
- Natural and biodegradable: it will break down over time, making it a great choice for those who want to reduce waste
- Chemical-free: a non toxic option, which some people prefer for their events and homes
